Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan Speaks His Mind on Iran’s Nuclear Program

The following is what the Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said about Iran’s nuclear program and questioned some world powers’ constant and unjustified focus on the Iranian program.

“We don’t want nuclear weapons in this region and this is what we have always called for. We have also voiced this to the Iranian officials and they stress that they don’t have any intention of developing nuclear weapons,” Erdogan told Al -Arabiya satellite channel.

“They [the Iranians] want to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes because they worry that the traditional energy recourses might not meet their needs in the future,” Turkey’s Yenisafak newspaper quoted Erdogan as saying on Wednesday.

“Besides, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has found no evidence indicating that Iran is developing nuclear weapons,”

“What upsets me is another thing: why those talking about nuclear weapons always pick on Iran? Why don’t they discuss Israel? They only point the finger at Iran and North Korea,”

“We call on them to adopt a just behavior. We urge the UN Security Council and especially its five permanent members to take necessary precautions to prevent proliferation of nuclear weapons.”

Dr. Ron Paul Labels Iran’s New Nuclear Facility Completely Legal

He labels Iran’s new hysteria as Deja vous, warmongering and draws a similar parallel with Saddam Husein’s WMD justification.

He goes on to point out the followings:

  • The American government knew about Qom’s nuclear plant since 2006
  • Obama was briefed about this site in November right after he was elected.
  • The CIA had reported that there was no evidence that the Iranians were working on nuclear weapon technology since 2003.
  • The Iranians informed the IAEA about the existence of their new site in Qom 18 months prior to operation, this is while the IAEA requires its members for minimum 6 months prior notification.
  • Sanctions on Iran will only make the regular citizenry suffer and unifies the public behind their government.
  • The United Nations and IAEA have never to this date found the Iranians’ nuclear program faulty.
  • Sanctions and threats on Iran is to no benefit of the American people and their national security.

10 Reasons Why Iran’s Nuclear Program is Hyped…

Iranian Nuclear Site

1- Iran has signed the NPT (Non Proliferation Treaty)

The NPT clearly states that all parties have “an inalienable right to nuclear enrichment”. Iran has been progressing towards nuclear power for over 40 years, which started and supported by the western powers during the days of pro-western dictatorship of Shah.

Q: Some may argue that privatization of Iran is to its benefits, instead of the way it is now?

A: “Look at the US, In the US were ruled by the capitalist class, and look at he results in this country, the whole failure of the financial system,  everything has become fraudulent, people are loosing their homes, their jobs, we don’t have a national health coverage. And many other safety nets that people in Iran have today, we do not have here in the US… So privatization which brings about the unlimited market system will only be into disadvantage of the masses of people, no matter what form the government has, whether it is Islamic or secular…”

Q: Are you suggesting the Iranians in Iran should stop protesting?

“I believe that, it would be the right thing to do at this movement…  Also (interestingly), the Guardian Council had a open meeting today for the other three candidates to come and formally present their complaints about voting and Mr. Mousavi did not even show at the meeting. So they have to follow all the legal means…”

Q: It is not fair to compare US and Iran, since it is much easier to get a permit in the US for protest than in Iran?

“In fact that is not true. If the US government does not want to give you a permit , they don’t. And I know that because I have been marching for 40 years in the streets of Washington… They have made it harder and harder for people to march”

Q: Who does Ahmadinejad represent and Who Does Mousavi represent?

Q: What is your opinion about Iran’s involvement t in Palestine?

“I believe that it is very important for Iran to support liberation in the Middle East, because what will have in the middle east will affect Iran…”

Q: What does an ideal Iran looks like to you?

Q: Do you think that there maybe a better system than socialism? A hybrid perhaps?

    *
  • Israel is held as a friend and an ally
  • Iran is an enemy and part of the “Axis of Evil”
    *
  • Israel accuses Iran of violating human rights within its own country
  • Iran accuses Israel of violating human rights outside its boarders (in Palestine)

The hypocrisy and the double standards in this world are extraordinary. In these hostile times between the two countries and turmoil around the world, we should remind ourselves that if there is no justice in the world, humanity shall never find peace.

Justice will come soon and so will peace between all.

Lets hope!

Iran Reveals New Nuclear Facility Near City of Qom to IAEA

Iran has revealed that it built a second uranium enrichment plant, the UN nuclear watchdog said Friday.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said Iran had sent a letter on September 21 to inform the watchdog “that a new pilot fuel enrichment plant is under construction in the country,” agency spokesman Marc Vidricaire said in a statement.

The New York Times reported that the facility was being built inside a mountain near the holy city of Qom, 160 kilometres (100 miles) south of Tehran. Iran already has one enrichment plant at Natanz.

Freedom of Jewish Community in Iran

There are 25,000 Jews living in Iran. When Israel backed a plan to pay Iranian Jewish families $60,000 to settle in Israel, Society of Iranian Jews met the announcement with scorn, issuing this statement: “The identity of Iranian Jews is not tradable for any amount of money. Iranian Jews are among the most ancient Iranians. Iran’s Jews love their Iranian identity and their culture, so threats and this immature political enticement will not achieve their aim of wiping out the identity of Iranian Jews.”

Why Walking out on Ahmadinejad’s Speech is Not Justified

A number of nations have declared that their representatives will walk out before the Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmedinejad makes his speech. This should be considered as not only a childish act but also a humiliating decision for any nation doing so. It blatantly shows whom these governments are catering to; and we can be sure that they are not catering to the majority of their population.

“I feel we are being ‘ruled’ by foreigners. I want my country back!.” Said David Henry one of the commentators on CBC (Canadian news) article.

Ahmadinejad Arrives in New York for the 64th UN General Assembly

The Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has arrived in New York to attend the 64th session of the UN General Assembly.

The Iranian ambassador to the UN, a group of Iranians residing in the US, and “local officials” welcomed the Iranian delegation in New York on Tuesday, the Fars news agency reported.

For the first time all five lawmakers representing religious minorities in the Majlis (Iran’s parliament) are part of the Iranian delegation accompanying Ahmadinejad.  Previously, only one of the lawmakers representing religious minorities accompanied the Iranian president on his visits to the UN headquarters.
