It is disappointing to see the swell of vitriol of those who would question the official story of the 9/11 attacks. Blind obeisance to the government and to the mainstream media denotes neither intelligence nor patriotism. Indeed, it’s the admission of difficult questions of our institutions of authority into the public forum and the rigorous, honourable debate of these questions that are the hallmarks of an educated and patriotic citizenry.

Ponder for a moment that the official account of the events of September 11 is itself, a conspiracy theory. The official story holds that 19 hijackers, acting under orders of Osama Bin Ladin, and supported by a network of Al Qaeda operatives, conspired to attack the United States; irrefutably a conspiracy, by definition. Blame for the attacks was being laid at Osama Bin Laden’s feet while the twin towers still stood burning, before any reasonable factual investigation could have possibly begun; irrefutably a theory, by definition.
